I’m Nick Hollinghurst, and I’ve focused my political career on promoting social democracy and sustainability. As a member of the Liberal Democrats, I believe in shaping a future where political decisions prioritise the well-being of everyone, not just the privileged few. Over the years, I have served as as a town, borough and county councillor in Tring & the Villages and in Hemel Hempstead. I focus on issues like sustainable energy, climate action, and human rights. My passion lies in creating a fairer society, one that supports social justice, maximises personal freedom and social mobility, reduces the current high levels of inequality in income and wealth and takes concrete action to combat the climate emergency.
Though no longer an elected councillor, I remain heavily involved in the Liberal Democrats, currently serving on the party’s executive committee for the East of England. I actively push for political change, urging young people to get involved because politics directly impacts everything — from healthcare and education to job opportunities and housing. Now more than ever, we need fresh ideas and new leadership to tackle the challenges ahead.
