Councillor Nick Hollinghurst's Locality Budget Spend in 2014-15

tickEvery Hertfordshire County Councillor has £10,000 at her or his disposal to award to good causes in the area she or he represents. Funds cannot be awarded to individuals and are intended for charitable of community groups which might need some one-off funding for a project that they might not be able to carry out otherwise.

The funds can and often are put together with funding from other councillors if the project covers a wide area.

This is what Nick Hollinghurst, Liberal Democrat HCC councillor for Tring and the Villages, allocated his funds for this year just ending.

£ 500 Parkrun UK - to help towards the provision of free, timed 5 kn runs every saturday at 9.00 am in Tring Park for all ages and abilities.
£ 950 Hospice of St Francis - to fund the travel costs of a Community Specialist Nurse for one year.
£ 400 Watford Hospital Radio - to improve the IT equipment that they use
£ 400 Tring Together - a contribution to the costs of the Tring Festival
£ 600 Milhoppers Management Fund - to reprinting and updating a leaflet about the Black Poplar Trail in Wilstone
£ 500 Tring Steppingstones Pre-School - to provide wooden concertina fencing
£ 1,395 Wigginton Parish Council - outdoor gym equipment
£ 500 Signpost Mental Health Support - to improve and refresh the website design
£ 500 Wigginton Village Hall - to help with urgent electrical repairs to Village Hall
£ 3,000 Tring & District Community Centre - help towards a 'Spend to Save' project to modernise lighting
£ 1,225 Dacorum & District Mental Health Carers Support Group - to meet shortfall in funding activities and admin
£10,000 Total
