New Surgery Survey in Tring – Consultation Closes 20 May

Time is running out to have your say on the future of New Surgery
The New Surgery in Tring has been led by a single GP, Dr. Hall-Jones, for 29 years. As Dr. Hall-Jones retired in January, Herts Urgent Care has taken on GP services at the practice on a caretaker basis. There is currently a contract in place for up to 8 months, from 1 February 2016, for this arrangement to continue, but it is not possible for this to be a permanent solution.
Herts Valleys CCG and NHS England are inviting current patients, local residents and other interested parties to help shape the changes that are made to the practice.
Herts Valleys CCG and NHS England have proposed two options for the future of the practice and its patients:

This option means that Herts Valleys CCG and NHS England would start the process of identifying (procuring) a GP provider to deliver services to the patients registered at The New Surgery. By law, we are required to have a competitive procurement process to see who is best placed to deliver the service to patients. This process will take nine to twelve months.

This option means that the contract will not be offered to a new GP provider and The New Surgery will close. Patients will be supported to find a new GP Practice and would be able to register at a different local practice.

For more detail on the options proposed, please refer to the letter you should have received (if you are a patient) or read more online at http://hertsvalleysccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/surveys-questionnaires

Should you have any questions or require any further information, please contact Heather Aylward at Herts Valleys CCG on 01442 898885.

Please submit your response with any additional comments before this consultation closes on Friday 20th May at 5pm
