Is Your Business Prepared Should Disaster Strike?

Are you a business owner in Hertfordshire? This week is National Business Continuity Week 16-20 May
Herts County Council is encouraging all Herts businesses to get a plan to help protect your business!
What is business continuity? Business continuity planning ensures that your business can survive and recover from an incident, as well as keeping your reputation intact.
How well prepared is your business to cope with any sort of disruption?
It isn’t just disasters like fire and flooding which could shut your business down – weather, staff sickness, burst pipes, supplier problems and power failures are common small scale incidents which can have devastating impacts on businesses that have not planned ahead.
Business continuity planning doesn’t have to be complicated, time-consuming or costly. By asking some relatively simple scenario based questions, businesses can be better prepared.
To help you protect your business, Hertfordshire County Council has a range of resources on www.hertsdirect.org/businesscontinuity,including a business continuity plan template, tools to help you improve how prepared your businesses is, and guidance on how to test any existing plans.

No matter how small your business is, business continuity is a good investment. Make this year’s Business Continuity Awareness Week the year that you make your business more resilient.
