Temporary Traffic Disruption, Watford Road, St Albans.

An incident that has occurred at the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout Jct. B4630 Watford Road, St Albans.
The Water Main located at the roundabout is leaking and requires maintenance as soon as possible, to prevent failure of the carriageway besides major disruption to the local area and road users alike.
HCC are concerned the leak may cause structural damage to the sub base of the carriageway, in addition to this, the volume / weight of traffic could cause the 6" PVC main to burst.
Given the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the repair works are being undertaken, it will be necessary to close A405 North Orbital Road (Westbound). between the junctions of Tippendell Lane and B4630 Watford Road. Given the location, we have agreed for the works to take place between 10pm - 5am tonight.
The works are expected to take 1 Night to complete.
