One Grid is Hardly a Drain on Resources – but it will make a Difference on a Fast Slip Road!

If you ask, you sometimes get – but this grid on a slip road to the A41 in Tring at the Wigginton roundabout was asked for by the local Hertfordshire county councillor, Nick Hollinghurst, 3 years ago.

It’s been a long time coming but everyone will be pleased to see the end of that long deep puddle on the slip road that forms every time it rains.
Road safety, cleaner cars – and the removal of a source of expensive damage to the carriageway. Every little helps.
Cllr Nick Hollinghurst said, “Well, I’m sure we’re all pleased to see this in place at last – although all most people won’t notice anything at all – just the puddle gone! It’s a pity it took so long to arrive, but to be fair it does make sense to collect a number of similar drainage schemes and do all the work together. It is rather more efficient with council taxpayers’ money to do that.”
Other drainage schemes that Cllr Hollinghurst requested and have been done recently or are still ongoing are: Osborne Way, Wigginton; Dundale Road and Icknield Way Junction; Park Road and Western Road junction; Cow Roast A4251; The Twist, Wigginton and exploratory works in Chapel Lane, Long Marston.
